UVPackmaster free C++ SDK for UV packing released
Glukoz has announced the release of a free UVPackmaster SDK for Windows and Linux, allowing any developer to use the tool’s features in their own applications.
UVPackmaster is a multi-threaded tool previously only available for 3ds Max and Blender that’s written in C++ and can use Cuda-enabled GPUs for packing and can perform some packing operations on all CPUs and GPUs simultaneously. Other features include:
- Heuristic iterating for the best packing result.
- Adding new islands to an existing packing (with an option to automatically adjust the scale of new islands).
- Stacking similar UV islands on top of each other and packing them together.
- locking arbitrary UV islands together (their relative position will be maintained during packing, even if they’re not stacked).
- Island grouping.
- UDIM support – packing to many tiles with the best possible coverage (no margin of empty space is present in the result).
- Packing to a custom box in the UV space.
- Defining rotations on a per-island basis.
- Packing for a non-square texture.
- Defining the exact margin and padding between islands in pixels of the texture.

Thank you!
I know this addon from the blender community, later i bought 3ds max version… It works epic 😀 Can anyone explain to me why built in UV packers (at least in blender adn 3ds max) are not so good?
