Valkyrie Engine
TalanSoft has released Valkyrie Engine, a new tool for creating real-time applications aimed squarely at artists.
It promises the ability to create games, apps, AR & VR content without having to write code. Instead of traditional coding tools, it enables the user to create interactions by drag & dropping actions, events and behaviours onto assets in a timeline.
The rendering engine supports PBR standards and GI lighting, even for mobile. Talking of mobile, there’s no need to use an external compiler (like XCode) for deployment. Airdrop, email, slack and even Whatsapp are mentioned as ways to deploy an app to devices. To achieve this it uses an app available from the app store to load the source files (it can also be used to preview the samples on the website)
At present Valkyrie is available for Windows with Mac OS promised in early 2019. Rental prices start from $19.99 a month for individuals or $89.99 for businesses. A free version is also available for non-commercial use that displays a watermark.
