Chaos Group has updated its website and posted a video announcing the release of V-Ray 3.5 for Maya, which was recently released for 3DS Max. Some of the many new features in this update are:
- Adaptive Lights – A fast new algorithm that speeds up rendering in scenes with many lights.
- IPR – IPR updates faster and uses less memory. Changes to materials are seen in real time.
- Frame Buffer – Update only specific parts of the image using a render mask.
- Alsurface Material – General-purpose shader that works particularly well for skin.
- GPU Rendering – On-demand Mip-mapping means less memory usage.
These are just a few of the features in V-Ray 3.5. To learn more, head on over to Chaos Group’s V-Ray for Maya web page.
