Cebas have disclosed more information on the research they're doing on implementing GPU acceleration for their renderer, a project they have been working on for more than two years. According to Cebas, FinalRender 4 GPU can already do GPU instancing and render blurry reflections "so fast that it does not matter at all if you have [them] turned on or not". In order to publicize their 3D collection, VizPeople are offering two free detailed car models: a DeLorean DMC-12 and the latest Peugeot 508. The models can be used on commercial projects; registration is required to download them. More at VizPeople.

Andrew Kramer of Video CoPilot, has released a new preview video showing the features of his soon to be released, 'Element' plugin for Adobe After Effects. The plugin offers some really great 3d object capabilities inside of After Effects, including adjustable shaders and textures, obj import, and lighting. It is set to be released July 10, 2012, and you can check out the preview video on the Video CoPilot website.
