Hyperfocal Design announced the release of their first five time-lapse HDR sky domes, which come in a 9500x4750 resolution with up to 16 EVs (exposure values) for bright highlights and sharp shadows. Each time-lapse includes up to 1200 frames in EXR Piz Wavelet format (some time-lapses can be time-stretched to a higher number of frames). New features in RandomControl's hybrid-accelerated and physically-based renderer for 3DS Max include faster motion blur (motion and deformation), faster and better displacement mapping, BSDF clamp setting for removing fireflies, faster warm-up for heavy scenes, material converter script, new render passes, multi-layered EXR output, Max 2015 support, etc. A trial version is available (registration required). The full list of speakers for the best 3DS Max-related event, organized in The Netherlands by Joep van der Steen, is now up. The lineup includes Autodesk's 3DS Max PM Eddie Perlberg and PD Martin Coven, who will be holding closed session talks on the development and future of 3DS Max, Rune Spaans, Ondra Karlik (Corona Renderer), Dave Baker, Hristo Velev, Paul Roberts, Artur Leao, Neil Hazzard, John o'Connell, Eric de Broche, Michael McCarthy, Ted Boardman and many more. Presentations will also be held by Platige Image, Chaos Group, NVidia ARC, Itoo Software, etc.

As previously reported, Paul Neale has been working on a tool that allows to edit multiple tracks of animation at once. The script has received many improvements, allowing now to manage all your animated tracks as well as to work with controllers for quick and simple setups in complex rigs and systems. It groups tracks together based on the sub anim path found in the track editor. By grouping paths it makes it easy to control many tracks on non-instanced objects, modifiers, transforms, materials and maps as well as custom attributes on any Max object including modifiers and controllers.
