Moscow-based Ipi Soft announced the release of the Biomech add-on for its motion capture application, which allows for in-depth bio-mechanical analysis of human motion. It includes visualization of tracking data and can export to various formats. The software can be used for gait analysis and rehabilitation, sports motion analysis and research in 3D human kinematics. A 30% discount is being offered until March 19th. At least some of its chips. Chaos Group announced that it has incorporated the developer of the V-Ray for Blender bridge into its staff and is dedicating resources to further developing the software. More on Chaos Group.

Condition One has posted an interactive trailer for their upcoming panoramic video documentary shot for viewing with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. The film viewing experience allows spectators to change where the camera is aiming at, modifying the concept of framing, but maintaining editing. The film itself documents virtual reality research and development and where the technology may be headed. VFX and 3DS Max master Allan McKay has created over 100 PFlow presets that ship with Max. The PFlow setups range from elemental effects for air, earth, fire, water and various logo effects.
