DxO acquires Nik Collection
DxO has announced the acquisition of Nik Collection, the well respected suite of 7 plugins for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. The tools were recently retired by Google, but DxO has pledged to continue development with a new release due out in 2018. The previous version can be downloaded for free from a new dedicated website.

Spring – a new short film to test Blender 2.8
Blender Cloud has announced their 12th open movie is in production. Spring, a short film about a mountain spirit and her wise little dog, is to be directed and written by Andy Goralczyk with art direction by David Revoy. The film will be produced by the studio at the Blender Institute in Amsterdam over an estimated 8-9 months period with the aim of testing the upcoming Blender 2.8 version before the official release. Sketchfab adds new Model Inspector options
Sketchfab has updated its online 3D content service to include new Model Inspector options. The new feature allows users to view individual base color, metallic, roughness, ambient occlusion, opacity, emission, specular and normal maps in isolation, in addition to viewing normal directions and displaying a UV checker map.
