Polyhertz has released a number of macros that replicate the view switching features of the 3DS Max viewcube that can be used using only hotkeys. It is also possible to snap a viewport to the closest 90 degree angle similar to shift drag in ZBrush. Find out more on Gumroad.

Years ago I made similar script that locks to the closest axis and switches to orthographic viewport, worked great for my workflow, I’ve used it so much over the last years that I think it saved me in total 30+ days of switching viewports. It is still available for free on scriptspot if people are interested.

Do you have a link to it on scriptspot please?

Here is my script that is tuned up to my workflow, so it does a few more things instead of just snapping to the closest axis. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/viewport-snap
I think somebody else made similar script, that is replicating similar behavior so check that also.

Although what Polyhertz did looks like a better solution, but mine is working perfectly fine for my needs.

Thank You. Seems pretty good alternative to 5$ version.
