Allegorithmic release a new Alien Worlds substance collection
Allegorithmic has added a new collection of Signature Series substance materials to its Source repository. The collection was created by Chris Hodgson from Naughty Dog who took the Signature Series’ remit to give “professional Substance artists carte blanche to tap their imaginations” as an opportunity to create a collection for texturing extraterrestrial worlds.
According to Allegorithmic the collection is divided into five categories: Alien Growth, organic-inspired materials that are simultaneously exotic and a little disgusting; Alien Panel, with Gigeresque structures and panels that might be associated with a frightening alien civilizations; Sci-Fi Industrial Panels, for creating gritty urban environments of metal and electrical cables; Sci-Fi Panels for spaceship interiors with a 70s twist; and finally Alien Terrain for creating landscapes.
This is the second collection in the Signature Series following Daniel Thiger’s ice, jungle, and desert substances added earlier this year.
Substance Source is available as part of a Substance subscription that allows 30 downloads per month in addition to licenses of Designer, Substance Painter and Substance Bitmap to Material. Indie licenses cost $19.90 and Pro $99.90. For Pro users, it is also possible to purchase the entire Substance Source library, along with one year of updates for $4990.
