Izotope has released a new version of its mastering tools for adding a final level of polish to mixes and audio recordings. Ozone 7 brings the sonic characteristics of analog hardware to modern digital recordings, with the addition of modules such as the Vintage Tape, which mimics the distinctive richness and warmth of tape saturation. Archviz artist Bertrand Benoit has updated his portfolio with a new scene, a Scandinavian-looking interior. The apartment was modeled with 3DS Max and rendered in Corona. A bit of post work was done using RandomControl's ArionFX. More on BBB3viz.

Design Toolbox is a commercial collection of scripts designed to simplify modeling tasks for architectural scenes. Features include standard transformations by reference, fast measurements, quick positioning of reference coordinates and workplanes, etc. It also includes some other tools for quickly applying and manipulating UVW maps, for paneling simple surfaces, etc., as well as RefGuides, a set of tools to create construction line guides to accurately position and model objects. Vizpark is offering a collection of assets for working with architectural visualization in Modo, which includes over 300 3D models of trees, grasses, shrubs, interior plants, boulders and realistic fruits, together with 30 HDRI environments and 75 wall and floor materials. An included browser can be added with drag-and-drop workflow. The 75 brick wall and tiled floor materials can be used for any type of architecture, from modern to old, high to low and small to large. Autodesk announced that its Flame compositing and visual effects software can now be purchased as a standalone software-only application. The company will stop selling hardware-based systems after January 16, 2016. In addition to permanent licensing, Flame is now also available through rental licensing (monthly, quarterly and annually). According to a related FAQ, Autodesk plans to continue to sell perpetual licenses of Flame, though it also plans to discontinue the ability to buy upgrades for those licenses on July 1, 2016. Also of note, Flame for Mac will be available soon, with the release of Flame 2016 Extension 2, expected November 24. (more...)
