New Forester for Cinema 4D teaser video

3DQuakers has posted a new video showing an animation created with its upcoming Forester plugin for Cinema 4D that procedurally generates natural elements like trees, grass and forests, with animation capabilities. ThinkingParticles 6.2 brings smoke operators and atmospheric rendering effects

Cebas has has released Subscription Drop 2, a new update to its rule-based particle system for procedural creation of visual effects. New features include smoke operators that allow to explore new ways of handling compressible fluid effects like smoke and gas, as well as rule-based interaction between the fluid bodies (smoke/fumes) and rigid bodies. Sketchfab adds animation support

Paris-based Sketchfab, the company dedicated to online model publishing and sharing, has added the ability to display animated models. Only FBX format is supported at this time. The system is currently in beta and artists are invited to join testing. Check out some sample animated models and find out more on Sketchfab's website.

Luxion announces KeyShot integration plugins for Maya and Cinema 4D

Luxion, developers of KeyShot interactive rendering and animation software, announced new free plugins for Maya 2016 and Cinema 4D that add export of Maya and Cinema 4D files directly to KeyShot. Additionally, users have full LiveLinking support to update model changes in KeyShot and may export KeyShot .bip files without the need to have KeyShot installed. More on Luxion's website.

RE:Vision Effects releases DE:Flicker with GPU support for Premiere Pro

RE:Vision Effects has announced DE:Flicker for Premiere Pro, with support now included when purchasing DE:Flicker for After Effects. DE:Flicker is designed to smooth out those annoying flicker and artifacts when shooting high frame rate or timelapse video. It not only fixes flicker from artificial light sources but also fixes flicker on multiple objects, even when those objects flicker at different rates. (more...)

Shotgun 6.3 to bring new review and pipeline features

Shotgun Software announced the upcoming release of v6.3 of their production tracking and review software. Improvements include new review and approval features and an updated Client Review Site to streamline collaboration and communication within teams, across sites and with clients. Shotgun's Pipeline Toolkit incorporates the Shotgun Panel, which will let artists communicate directly with other artists and see only the information relevant to their tasks directly inside their tools, along with a refreshed Workfiles tool to find and navigate to relevant files more quickly.
