Rusty Hazelden’s The Art of V-Ray Vol 1

Rusty Hazelden has published a free 4 part tutorial that explains the fundamentals of V-Ray in Maya. Instead of using an abstract collection of exercises, he explains how to create a fake paint advertisement that features several fluids. The videos are free to view on YouTube, but you can support Rusty by purchasing the project files from Gumroad.

Extremely strange tutorial, some parts are superbasic but then he jumps straight into Vray proxy and he doesn’t cover things like materials. Not sure who he’s targeting with this

agree its terrible….worse than the redefine ones

I haven’t watched the tutorial (Max user) but if there’s one thing that YouTube has taught me, its to really value the skills of a good teacher (eg: just because I can cook a really good omelette, I still wouldn’t dream of teaching the world how to do it). If it’s a first tutorial, perhaps there’s a learning curve there too.
