(Updated) According to the latest information revealed by E-on, The Plant Factory will be available as a standalone application and is expected to be released in this quarter (Q2 2013). Its price has yet to be determined. E-on Software has posted further details on its upcoming plant modeling and rendering system, stating that plants created with The Plant Factory can be exported fully rigged and textured to 3D applications using a variety of formats such as FBX, 3DS, OBJ, etc. Wind-animated plants can be exported using a fully rigged mesh for further tweaking the animation or as a cloud of animated vertices (MDD style). E-on has also posted a sample render showing the amount of detail and complexity that can be created with TPF.
