Effective TD’s Eloi Andaluz Fullà has released a short video discussing what we can expect in the future for 3DS Max, based on fleshing out the recent road map and Autodesk’s recent GDC Presentation. Discussion points include detachable viewports, a new bake to texture workflow, new retopology tools, and a new procedural system based on Bifrost board that will initially bringing fire and smoke but is likely to be extended to include a lot more. To little to late
Looks great!, but your files are still hostage too Autodesk… pass
That Bifrost thing i already heard more than 5 years ago when they killed Softimage.
I’m still grieving from them killing Softimage..
Me too.
Autodesk is not a company that can be trusted. They are just trying to get people money by cornering them, instead of actually trying to innovate.
It seems that Softimage ICE > Bifrost thing is just fog for the eyes.
It cannot be extrapolated what Eloi Andaluz says from Autodesk documents he pointed.
From this and other past occasions were his enthusiasm took the better of him, what Eloi Andaluz says should be carefully verified, specially those not shown or documented.
Yes, you should contrast any information, and you can get more information about bifrost joining the beta.
I have been hearing about Bifrost (ICE 2) as successor of ICE since the demise of Softimage half a decade ago, with nothing to be seen. Then 3DS got a sort of hackICE , you certainly know that MCG. More resources spent for not much profit. Now we have the return of Bifrost…
Yeah i saw the FMX annoucement – for Maya
Well, I was in the presentation of Bifrost board during Siggraph 2018 at vancouver. And I can tell you there was things to be seen. They announced for maya and max. And again, if you are not certaing about it, its easy, just join the beta.
Where do you sign up for this beta eloi?
Beta.Autodesk.com
Be careful and read the EULA and the Agreement with care and attention
Cheers!
this is great, but cat animation tool needs also some care from autodesk, it’s such a powerful animation tool
The developer who wrote that (A really nice guy) left Autodesk years and years ago.
