Fabric Engine for 3DS Max beta is now available to those who would like to try it out. Users can simply download the beta package via the Fabric Engine website, unpack the .zip file, open the 3dsmax2014.bat in an editor and modify the last line to point to your installation of 3DS Max. Users can then launch 3DS Max via the batch file, and can request their free Fabric Engine license through the Fabric Engine license page. (Updated) It should be mentioned that Fabric is a technical product that requires some programming knowledge, it is not an artist tool. So please keep that in mind when testing – there are ‘artist friendly’ things like visual programming coming in Fabric 2.0 next year, but for now you need to be comfortable doing some coding.
Hi there – there are a few things to note (since this was a beta sent to people that had requested access and is not linked publicly). You missed the most important parts of the beta mail that was sent out.
1) this is a technical beta. If you are not comfortable writing code, then this is not a product for you. It is _not_ an artist plugin.
2) if you need support, you need to join the google group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/creationplatform
Thanks,
Paul
