The plugin runs on NVIDIA GPU cards using a “dynamic Eulerian fluid simulation system, used to create advanced smoke and fire effects, leveraging a Sparse Voxel Grid within an unbounded simulation domain”. According to Cebas, FinalFluid’s solver gets around the GPU memory restrictions typical of this kind of tool by allocating simulation blocks in a dynamic way to ensure that it only uses only memory in active regions of interest. Find out more on the Cebas website.

Looks really great, but someone should have a word with the marketing team!

I thought the same, the video is more like something from the Dodo with all the captions

cheers, it will be interesting to see how/if Chaos Group respond

I’ve been impressed with Embergen, but obviously doing it inside Max has advantages

Yeah it was very quick to do those RnDs. As preview is in realtime you can tweak a lot and try different look. Still it is in early beta.

That is pretty cool. Though with cebas, it’ll be yearly subscription pricing even if you need it for the random project once or twice a year.

WTF, is wrong with that guy who did that marketing video?
Was he hiding in a cave on Mars for the last 100 years?
My eyes hurt!
Damn!
I wouldn’t go near his software even for free bitcoins!

– “A promo video is something the new intern could do, right?”
– “Yeah, it shouldn’t be too difficult”
– “Ok, let them do it and upload it to vimeo, ask someone from IT to give them the password”

isnt it Edwin, CEO who is always doing promo videos?
He has specific sense of humor.
This looks like a joke that only he finds funny.
Remember Mosquito Render? Was a good one too.

Anyway, good programming, bad packaging.

Marketing is not Cebas strength, XD.
However their tools are pretty good. Here the user Boban showcasing the speed of the tool using only 1.5Gb of gpu ram: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi4MXx4hmmE

Eloi, although I haven’t opened Max in years, I still like to see the progression of application and its tools. Even if it’s not for me. I appreciate that you are always kind. I think people forget that any new feature elevates everyone’s toolset.

So, its realtime, but you have to use a separate window for it?
