The Godot team has released details of new features for version 3 of their open source game engine, including a new physically based 3D renderer, real-time global illumination and improved post-processing effects, support for C++ (GDNative), C# (Mono) and Visual Scripting, improved HTML5 export using WebAssembly, a new high-level networked multiplayer API, an entirely new audio engine, supporting routing and real-time effects, 2D soft shadows and GPU-accelerated particles plus more. The Godot project is funded through Patreon, and the team have announced that their first target has been achieved and are now able to hire a full time developer. Read more about the engine on Godot’s website and see a preview video on YouTube.
