Daniel Ritchie has released the latest version of Howler, his natural media painting, video, animation, 3D, and visual effects tool. New features in version 2022 include:
- Analytical Upscale super-resolution
- Non-Local Means noise removal filter
- Adaptive Threshold filter
- Color picker improvements
- Feather the alpha channel
- Distance Transform filter
- Stored images now have an option to be marked as Indelible, meaning they will survive a program restart
- Multi-frequency option for CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) filter/combine by swap filter to calculate the Euclidean distance between the pixels of the two images
- Multiple frequencies for woodgrain
- Multiple frequencies for bilateral filter for cartoonizing effects
