(HOLLYWOOD, CA, Jan 7, 2001) – Filled with dazzling visuals and cutting edge commercials, the Super Bowl, NFL’s biggest event, has an estimated 140 million viewers.
FOX Sports is known for its innovative broadcast 3D graphics. To continue its tradition, and to deliver a stunning Super Bowl graphics package, the network teamed up with leading CGI studio, Digital Dimension (www.digitaldimension.com). The package includes a sophisticated Opening sequence, bumpers and interstitials. FOX Sports Art director, Carlos Aguero, provided Digital Dimension with a well-defined concept and colorful boards. "We’ve been working with FOX on many different projects for several years now, and we’re really excited to be involved with the Super Bowl package once again. This project pushes the technical and creative envelope and that’s the usual FOX attitude," says Benoit "Ben" Girard founder of Digital Dimension.
The Opening animation contains a futuristic vision of the host city, New Orleans, filled with a surreal atmosphere. "It’s Blade Runner meets The 5th Element type of design," adds Girard. With a team of skilled 3D animators, Digital Dimension has only a few weeks to complete and render the cutting edge package before the big day.
Built on last year’s success, Digital Dimension is simultaneously creating highly detailed 3D animations for the upcoming NASCAR on FOX season. Furthermore, the studio is currently gearing up to create many visual effects for two feature films starting in February 2002.
Super Bowl XXXVI airs Sunday, February 3rd, 2002.
