Softimage announced SOFTIMAGE|BEHAVIOR, a new crowd simulation software that provides users with the ability to create “intelligent” characters and choreograph 3-D animated crowds. “Behavior” includes a full-featured Integrated Development Environment (IDE), behavioral scripting, visual state-graph editing, debugging, and dynamic motion synthesis. The system’s integrated character engine features real-time IK, animation blending and warping, dynamic path planning, and automatic obstacle avoidance. Behavior supports the dotXSI file format; price is $14,995.
