Lightwave 2023 for Mac announced
LightWave 2023 for Mac is set for release on February 9th. This version introduces two distinct editions: the Rosetta Version for Intel Mac and the Native Version for Apple Silicon M Chip. The Native Version is specifically optimized for the Apple Silicon M Chip, offering up to 53% faster rendering speeds. However, it does not support Python. The Rosetta Version, designed for Intel Mac, maintains compatibility with Python 2, ensuring existing scripts remain functional.
Enhancements in this update include improved professional geo nodes, instancing, and text tools for the Rosetta Version. The update also features an enhanced user interface for the Octane Plugin, designed for high-resolution monitors and laptops, along with upgraded LW Pro Tools and Turbulence FD with new smoke and flame shaders.
To address existing technical challenges, the update resolves various OpenGL issues, quirks specific to the Apple Silicon M Chip, and several bugs and glitches.
