Lightwave 2023 released
LightWave Digital has introduced several new features in its 2023 version, it’s first in over 3 years and with a new company at the helm.
The Procedural Geometry Nodes system is a significant addition, enabling users to create and manipulate geometry procedurally, fully integrating with LightWave’s instancing toolset.
The software now includes TurbulenceFD, a plugin for creating realistic fluid effects like fire and smoke. Additionally, the upcoming Unreal Engine 5.x Real-time Bridge will facilitate real-time communication between LightWave Layout and Unreal Engine 5.x.
LightWave also introduces Instance Painting and a Text Tool in Layout for efficient scene rendering and dynamic text creation. LightWave Pro Tools, developed by users, have been integrated natively, improving workflow across Modeler and Layout. The ChronoSculpt feature focuses on sculpting and editing animated 3D meshes, enhancing control over deformations and animations.
Finally, LightWave 2023 includes Quality of Life updates like a new Node Editor, mouse wheel zooming, and drag-n-drop support, aimed at streamlining the user experience. These updates showcase LightWave3D’s commitment to advancing its software in the dynamic field of computer graphics.
