Marvelous Designer 2024 released
CLO Virtual Fashion has announced the release of Marvelous Designer 2024.0. Among the key additions are multiple wind controllers, video capture, and soft body simulation, which aim to provide users with more dynamic and realistic design options. The update also includes an auto convert to avatar feature, the introduction of EveryWear, and Marvelous Designer LiveSync, enhancing real-time collaboration and design adaptability.
EveryWear is a new package designed to optimize garments created in CLO and Marvelous Designer for use in areas such as gaming, the metaverse, VFX and animation. This feature set is accessible to CLO and Marvelous Designer subscribers at no additional cost during its beta phase.
EveryWear aims to significantly reduce both time and costs associated with digital garment creation by automating various repetitive tasks. Auto Fitting adjusts 2D patterns and 3D garments to fit different avatar sizes, simplifying the modification of clothing for various body types. The Rigging feature streamlines the attachment of garments to characters, enhancing how clothing moves and behaves in real-time applications. Texture Baking captures detailed information from high-resolution 3D garments, transferring it to 2D texture maps to increase realism and efficiency. Lastly, the Level of Detail feature automatically generates multiple versions of a character for rendering at different distances, freeing creators from manual LoD adjustments.
Users can also now scale custom joint avatars of FBX files, ensure symmetrical 3D states, and match 2D pattern measurements more accurately. The update introduces partial strengthen and an efficient 2D pattern selection tool, allowing for easier manipulation of patterns with simple control and click commands. Additionally, basic arithmetic operations can be performed directly in input fields, and project file icons now display thumbnail images, among other improvements aimed at streamlining the design workflow.
Improvements in patch topology, polygon optimization for accessories, and the reorganization of remeshing-related features are also included. The update also facilitates easier scene and prop management, offering new export options and the ability to delete selected scenes and props directly.
