Maxon has announced it has acquired Forger, a digital 3D sculpting and texture painting application for iOS. With over 10 years of development, Forger is one of the more capable and feature-rich mobile sculpting applications, with an experience approaching desktop equivalents.
Features of Forger include an “intuitive multitouch interface and a comprehensive collection of sculpting brushes and tools. Powerful remeshing algorithms as well as masking and layering capabilities make concept- and production-level sculpting on a mobile device a reality. The ability to import/export OBJ and Alembic file formats further facilitates mobile to desktop workflows.”
Forger will remain available to purchase from the Apple App Store for its existing price of $9.99 and Forger’s creator Javier Edo Meseguer will be joining the Maxon team.
