Maxon Announces Updates to Maxon One
Maxon has announced updates to its Maxon One subscription. These updates, released on February 21, 2024, focus on performance enhancements and workflow improvements, particularly for users with systems running on Apple’s M3 chips.
The highlight of this release is the optimization of Redshift for Apple’s M3 chips. This optimization includes support for Apple’s hardware-accelerated ray tracing, promising substantial performance improvements. Users can expect faster render times and improved interactivity, leveraging the advanced GPU capabilities of the M3 chip family. Redshift 3.5.24 also brings bug fixes, stability enhancements, and improved visual quality in certain features, such as ramp node interpolation.
Further enhancing the user experience, the updated Cinema 4D Asset Browser now integrates seamlessly with Adobe Substance 3D. This integration allows for more efficient browsing and addition of Substance materials. The browser also supports animated asset previews and includes new export capabilities for glTF and USD file formats, including skin deformations and PSR animation support.
In addition to these enhancements, the release introduces a new library of 40 Substance materials, created in partnership with Adobe. These materials, available in the Cinema 4D Asset Browser, offer customizable parameters to create a wide range of realistic surfaces.
Cineware also sees updates, particularly in its integration with Unreal Engine. These updates include performance improvements in the Datasmith Direct Link for Cinema 4D and enhanced animation transfer capabilities, further strengthening the plugin’s feature set.
