Yes it does look useful, unfortunately it’s a plugin, as opposed to a script. Been bitten in the butt too many times with plugins, like developpers vanishing in thin air after a year, leaving their plugin dead after a Max sdk recompile. I remember using a plugin called Texture Layers back in the Digimation days. When that one disapeared, the next Max version would not even let me open a scene with that plugin present. Had to reinstall the old Max version with that plugin, find every object that used it, remove it and resave that scene. The only plugins I own nowadays are Railclone, ForestPro, Floorgenerator and Vray. They all have decent track record of surviving, so I’m not too worried about those.

Not saying that this one could even be done as a script, but I will not be buying it, even as cheap as it is or useful as it looks to be…

Digimation is a sad example , because they got flooded by Hurrikan Katrina 2005 in New Orleans and lost their source code … they had great plugins.
My scenes are to big to go this way …Things like Project Manager from KStudio… is just a better way…but needs some care

“because they got flooded by Hurrikan Katrina 2005 “ – I do not think this is the correct version of the story. Actually it is a fake news. I am personally in contact with CEO and team for a long time. They have simply changed their business model to something more lucrative (look at their homepage, military, 3d trainings and so on).
No one has ever become rich from 3d-plugins dev and publishing, some companies simply move forward and leave unprofitable stuff behind.

It really depends on the plugin. This one looks like it is adding functionality to the interface and not adding custom classes to your .max files, meaning it should work universally with any max asset without worries of getting incompatibilities with 3ds max versions without the plugin.

And one other thing, when Max crashes, I guess every other instances opened will crash also?
