NDunes is a new 3D real-time platform that’s designed for assembling large scale worlds. The software allows the user to import terrains and create rule-based biomes to populate them with materials and 3D models (also created in external applications) to generate large-scale outdoor scenes such as forests, countries, mountains, continents, or even planets.  According to the developers, NDunes has been designed to fit into 3D pipelines though details have not been shared at the time of publication. Several features are promised down the line including a water system for oceans and rivers; the ability to add urban environments including buildings and roads; film and camera tracking; animation and scripting; and many more tools for landscape editing. Find out more and download the free beta from the NDunes website.
