Photoshop 24.6 released
Adobe has announced the release of Photoshop 24.6. The release introduces new features and enhancements aimed at optimizing workflow, making tool use more efficient, and fostering non-destructive methods of work.
In the Layers panel, users can now view tooltips and videos to better understand the functionality of different layers and tools. Photoshop version 24.6 also introduces an enhanced Brush tool, allowing for non-destructive brush painting. This feature is particularly useful when working with text, shape, video layers, or smart objects. Users can now paint a stroke on canvas and see the changes on a new layer, preserving the original content.
The update also provides an improved layer management feature. Users can now deselect layers intentionally without disrupting their workflow. To achieve this, users are to keep the Move tool selected, use the Command key for Mac, or Ctrl key for Windows, and click in the empty bottom portion of the Layers panel.
The Photoshop 24.6 release also introduces a feature to view all tools in the toolbar. This includes tools that were previously hidden by the user. This provides a more comprehensive view of the available tools, which can be customized by hiding them as per individual preferences.

Wow! What’s next? Saving to the folder the file was opened from originally maybe? I admit this sounds too much like magic, maybe some sort of AI could be used for that…
You`re delusional. That feature would take thousands of years to code. Utterly impossible. Maybe Adobe could acquire some company that created a plugin for this task…but I guess such a company would be at least ten times as expensive than Figma…
The hair I’ve pulled out will never grow back.
You mean the checkbox in file handling, Save As to Original Folder? And then turn on Enable legacy “Save As” so you don’t get that cloud option.
Tried all the options… for some reason it’ll sometimes save to some obscure location in the file history. I never figured out why it did this. Might be they’ve been using AI all along and it’s just smarter than me.
