Plasticity 1.2 released
Nick Kallen has released an update to Plasticity, his NURBS-based modeling tool aimed at artists.
The highlight of version 1.2 is the enhanced surfacing capabilities. Unlike the previous versions, Plasticity 1.2 permits the trimming of 3D curves at any intersection point, a feature previously limited to 2D planar curves. The updated version also offers the ability to individually adjust curves and later recombine them. Even complex concave and convex surfaces can now be seamlessly patched.
Another noteworthy change to the tool involves a modification to the orbiting process, which now revolves around the cursor similar to the zoom feature. Other improvements include the bridging of curves and edges, curve extensions and stretches, 3D curve trimming, patching of untrimmed curves, advanced lofting/patching with continuity settings, rapid lofting, surface bridging, constrained surfaces, sweep with multiple rails, and more.
