Plasticity 1.3 released
Plasticity 1.3, the latest version of the nurbs based 3D modelling software, is now available for download, bringing a range of new features and enhancements aimed at streamlining workflow and improving usability.
Among the standout additions is the Blender Bridge. This new feature facilitates a quicker and more straightforward data transfer between Plasticity and Blender, a widely used 3D computer graphics software. Users can simply refresh to load data, negating the need for cumbersome temporary files. The bridge preserves materials set in Blender even if the geometry in Plasticity is altered, and mirrors the group structure in Plasticity as a collection in Blender. The add-on also supports a real-time live link and almost all of Plasticity’s faceting tools, making for an efficient workflow. However, the current version does not retain UV seams and sharps specified in Blender.
Another major update is the introduction of customisable radial menus. These popup menus allow quick execution of commands and can be triggered using shortcut keys. By default, two radial menus are provided, but users have the freedom to customise or create new radial menus to suit their needs.
The software now also supports hierarchical isolation of objects. This enhanced ‘Isolate’ command functionality significantly improves workflow in complex scenes. Users can hide objects in multiple layers and gradually revert back to showing more objects. Alongside this, Plasticity 1.3 now allows users to open multiple windows for better workflow efficiency, and introduces enhanced copy and paste commands, particularly useful for kitbashing.
Several improvements have also been made to the Outliner, Plasticity’s organisational tool. Users can now perform bulk state changes, access various related commands by right-clicking on a group folder, and locate their selected object in the 3D viewport within the Outliner using a shortcut.
Additional features include Chordal fillets in the solid fillet feature, and enhancements to edge movement. New commands have also been introduced such as ‘Selection: convert to groups’, ‘Project Outline’, ‘Create Outline’ and ‘Thicken Face’. Workspace and file import/export capabilities have been refined, too.

I’m really loving this program. This new update rocks.
I love this app. So much fun to model with Plasticity. I use it most every day and hadn’t even realized all of the new features though. Thanks for the link to the video.
