Maxon has announced Digital Twin, its upcoming standalone application for creating high-fidelity digital representations of physical products. Currently in development, the software is designed to support marketing and brand design workflows by allowing teams to maintain visual consistency and accuracy as product imagery is reused across different formats, platforms, and tools, including AI-enabled applications.
Digital Twin applies Maxon’s existing 3D and rendering technology to the creation of production-ready marketing assets. Users begin with a cleared-for-use CAD or 3D product model, which can be built upon by adding materials, textures, lighting, perspective, and environmental interaction to produce a photorealistic digital prototype. The resulting asset can be placed into user-supplied backgrounds or environments while preserving the original product’s visual properties, allowing it to be reused across advertising, video, print, packaging, and eCommerce without reshooting or rebuilding the product.
The application is aimed primarily at consumer packaged goods and other product-driven marketing teams that require consistent presentation across regions and channels. Digital Twin is intended to integrate with established design software and third-party AI-enabled tools, giving users the option to scale production through automation while retaining a single authoritative digital version of a product. According to Maxon, this approach is meant to reduce fragmented production pipelines and shorten production timelines from weeks to hours.
Further details on availability and integrations have not yet been announced. For more information, visit Maxon’s website.
