The Foundry announced that Power Translators, the CAD models conversion software developed by NPower Software will soon be available for Modo, replacing the Basic and Advanced CAD Loader plugins.
Power Translators is based on the IntegrityWare kernel and supports two additional file formats: SAT (ACIS) and Rhino (.3dm), in addition to the previous formats supported by the Advanced CAD Loader plugin (IGES and STEP). In addition, the Power Translators will be sold in a single, advanced configuration, at the price of the old Basic CAD Loaders.
Also of note, thanks to requests from beta testers, NPower Software is incorporating the functionality to retopologize imported models into a quads-only mesh, though the feature may not be available upon first release.
