Scatter for Blender 2.8
BD3D has released Scatter, a new add-on for Blender for parametrically distributing instanced geometry . It works by automating the creation of a complex modifier stack behind the scenes and offers the user a simplified interface for scattering grass, ground cover, trees and more.
Features include the ability to create biomes from multiple layers, the ability to set specific densities, batch changing settings, multi-layer painting, path-based distribution, camera-culling, support for its own custom proxy system, and more.
Scatter costs $60 and includes several presets. Learn more on Gumroad.
Looks awesome! Definitely and interesting option for arch viz artists looking for an alternative to 3dsmax and forest pack. Have to investigate further on this.
Here is a video making kind-off a tutorial/review of the addon 🙂

It’s pretty cool 🙂
Cool for a beta. Distance and camera culling is unreliable, I ended up splitting a scene into two and linking Scatter enabled content to the main scene (which also included Graswald, so maybe here is the source of problems). Good start, but needs serious overhaul. Some design decisions are weird (like a button to refresh appearing about 5 times; inability to separate distance and camera culling).
