Time/Location:
Saturday, March 31st, 2001, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Los Angeles Film School Theatre
6363 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood
Course Description:
This course will establish a basic knowledge of rendering for the professional artist. The goal is to provide all participants with a understanding of rendering, using any renderer in a production environment. With extra focus on pipeline production and it’s importance. Various renderers – BMRT, Jig, Mental Ray, the Maya Renderer, Photo-Realistic Renderman – will be discussed, compared and contrasted during the seminar. To use these tools properly, the artist must comprehend “rendering” in the same way that an animator using Maya or 3D Studio Max needs to understand the abstract concepts of “animation.” Although no previous knowledge of rendering is required, many participants will be somewhat familiar with the ideas presented in this course. Our goal is to provide a methodical approach to the technical solutions available to the artist.
This seminar will also include a Q&A session where participants may ask the panel any level of rendering questions.
