Chaos Group has announced the release of V-Ray Next update 2 for 3DS Max bringing V-Ray IPR enhancements and V-Ray GPU updates plus all new memory tracking reports and Debug Shading in IPR. Improvements to GPU and Cloud rendering include support for: Substance 2 maps, VRayCurvature texture, VRayDistanceTex and VRayALSurfaceMtl shaders.

Renderpeople, creators of scanned 3D people, has announced RenderPeople STUDIO a new free plugin that allows a user to access their Renderpeople account directly from within 3ds Max. Maya Plugins
Octoplug is a new development company offering tools for Maya and Arnold. At the time of writing, they offer 2 commercial products: vfxMayaTools which comprises a number of deformers, nodes and utilities and vfxArnoldTools which includes shaders, light filters and noise tools. VfxMayaTools costs 50€ and vfxArnoldTools 30€. They also offer a free plugin OceanTools which allows Maya and Arnold users to render oceans or other large areas of water plus several asset packs including volumetric clouds.
