Smooth Boolean 2 for 3ds Max released

KM-3D has announced the release of Smooth Boolean 2, its commercial plugin for 3ds Max that enables the user to create smooth transitions between ProBoolean operands. New features include the ability to handle lowpoly meshes, improved handling when mixing meshes of different resolutions,  improved strips selection, easier debugging and a cleaner output mesh.

This release also adds two useful looking new modifiers. The Smooth Bridge modifier allows the user to seamlessly bridge 2 open edgeloops even with an uneven edge count and the sbNormalMap modifier allows the user to restore smooth explicit normals on edited SmoothBoolean object.

Smooth Boolean is compatible with Max 2013 and above, it costs $99 and a free demo is available. Find out more on KM-3D’s website.

There is…. it’s called….. Boolean. lol. They’ve improved it heaps. It used to be trash but it’s really good now. It’s even better in 2021 when combined with the weight normals modifier. Check out this vid by Eloi Fulla; I was impressed by what can be done now, especially with the splines generated around the cut edges trick – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYqy10OEHqo&t=24s&ab_channel=EloiAndaluzFull%C3%A0

Smooth mesh is really cool though =).
