IDV has disclosed the list of features of the latest version of their tree creation software for game development. New features include: hand and procedural modeling (allows users to prune branches, set force parameters to guide branch shape, and grow SpeedTree models around rocks, walls or other imported meshes), support for physics engines (built-in support for NVIDIA PhysX and the new NVIDIA PhysX APEX Vegetation Module), and much more. SpeedTree 5.0 is currently in beta, there’s no mention yet of a Max flavor of the software but it will most likely show up in the coming months. More at SpeedTree.com.
