Planetside Software has released v4 of its landscape creation and rendering software. The company has updated its website with a detailed description of the changes brought by the new version, which include a realtime ray-traced preview, realistic cloud shading model, enhanced atmosphere model, lens effects, improved render times, animation features for all versions, new and improved shaders, object sequence capabilities, etc.
Terragen 4 is available in Creative ($349) and Professional ($699) versions through permanent licensing. A free limited version is also available for download. Planetside Software also offers education licenses to faculty and students for free. Owners of previous versions of Terragen can upgrade at reduced prices.
