The Grove 10 – tree modelling add-on for Blender

F12 has announced a new version of The Grove. its parametric tree modelling add-on for Blender. Features of version 10 include:

• The ability to grow new branches by drawing them using a mouse or tablet.
• A new radial tool interface.
• New tools for planting multiple trees in a variety of patterns. 
• A turntable widget to make navigating around trees easier. 
• Improved simulation algorithms including taking into account secondary growth, the effects of deadwood, how trees react to pruning, gravitropism and much more.
• Wind animation is now an interactive tool with a new viewport interface.
• Improved Shade-Caster calculations.
• The ability to grow multiple species together, each taking into consideration the shade of the others. 

 The Grove normally costs €119, but there is currently a 20% discount bringing the price down to €95.20. Find out more about the new release on The Grove’s website.
