New features in F12 visuals’ tree creation add-on for Blender include: ray tracer for more realistic shade and phototropism calculation (ability to find the brightest direction to grow to), interactive pruning in the 3D view using the Grease Pencil tool, improved bending algorithm for branches, UI enhancements, twig viewport LOD, etc.
The Grove is available as an add-on for Blender for €109 and runs on OSX, Linux and Windows. A collection of seamless bark textures is included. Detailed twig models are available for purchase separately. To celebrate the first anniversary of the software, The Grove is being offered at a 20% discount until November 5th.
