The Grove tree creation add-on for Blender released

The Grove is a commercial add-on for Blender developed by F12 visuals, designed to create 3D trees. It allows to simulate the seasons in interactive steps, each year growing, bending and pruning to evolve trees. This simulation-based algorithm evolves true to nature trees with balanced shapes.

The Grove is the culmination of over a decade of creating architectural visualizations by Netherlands-based F12. Its algorithm springs from countless hours of research on how real trees grow. One single set of parameters defines the tree’s entire life from sapling to hero tree. The software builds high quality models that are lightweight to render, with intricately detailed twig models.

A collection of seamless bark textures is included, to help finish your branching structure in a realistic way. Like the twig textures, these bark textures were captured with accurate color and reflectivity in mind. Correct white balance and exposure relative to surfaces of known reflectance make for quality assets that can be used without tweaking. Using quality HDRI lighting together with The Grove provides instant realism.

The Grove is available as an add-on for Blender and runs on OSX, Linux and Windows. It is priced at €109 and currently being offered at a 20% early bird discount. Watch a video and find out more on The Grove’s website.
