Fusioneers announced the release of Gaia 3DF 1.0, a set of modules that enables users of Digital Fusion to work in 3D space. Gaia 3DF consists of a renderer, an object and camera data importer (.3ds and .lwo), a plane compositor, surfacer and 3D layout module. Read on for more.

The Gaia 3DF Suite is made of modules sold separtely. The Base Module including the renderer, lights, camera and camera import plus real 3D planes for 3D compositing. It also comes with a 3DMerger that is able to link different sorts of animation and objects to each other. The Gaia Object Module can import LightWave LWO and 3DS objects into DigitalFusion, apply textures with different mapping types and manipulate the object surface. A Shader Module adds non realistic render modes like Toon shading, Wireframe or Sketch to name a few. More modules, like Primitives or ObjectMorphing are currently in development and will be announced as they are available. A Gaia SDK for develpers is also planned.

The Base Module is $799, Object Module $299, Shader Module $49. Unlimited render only licences are free of charge. A full bundle with all modules included also available for $1049. The plug-ins can be purchased directly online at www.fusioneers.net in the shop section.
