Sometimes you get some badly done files that are collapsed (Turbosquid). It may be handy there.
it completely destroy unwrap so its very hard to use, only for pure modeling, should be fine they implement UV mapping correction
The UV issue has been fixed in UnChamfer Pro v1.1
It seems to work in Max 2012 as well, although I have only just installed it and only had the briefest experience with it so far.
