V-Ray Cloud early access announced
Chaos Group has announced V-Ray Cloud, its own online render service powered by Google Cloud Platform, is now available for a limited number of beta testers. Full details have yet to be announced but we know that the service will offer several features to improve upload times, including Smart Sync that automatically resubmits only the updates you’ve made to the scene and Remote Control that allows the user to change job settings and resubmit them from even a phone, with no need to open the scene.
V-Ray Cloud uses V-Ray Standalone so there are currently some limitations if you are using certain plugins or textures. For Maya, Rhino, Revit or SketchUp users this might not be so apparent as it mainly affects 3DS Max users thanks to its close integration with V-Ray. In a recent podcast Vlado mentioned that these issues are being resolved by adding a translation to V-Ray standalone equivalents for Max’s native textures, as well as conversion for popular plugins like Forest Pack Pro, Ornatrix and “most of the plugins people normally use”.
Pricing details have yet to be announced. Read more about V-Ray Cloud and apply to be a part of the beta on the Chaos Group blog.
