E-on Software seem to be feeling the pressure from Planetside’s Terragen 2 release. New features announced for the upcoming Vue 7.5 software include: support for V-Ray in Max (xStream), color and Alpha masks of single clouds and cloud layers in the multi-pass renderer, camera Mapping" to cut animation render times, spherical and planetary procedural terrains with infinite level of detail, spherical cloudscapes, material painting and effect-driven material mapping in the Terrain Editor, enhanced multi-processor usage, EcoSystem populations that can evolve over time, cloud layers that cast and receive shadows from other cloud layers and objects in the scene, etc. Vue 7.5 is expected to ship during Q2 2009, more at E-OnSoftware.com.
