Wonder Studio released, allowing you to swap out live actors for CG characters using AI
Wonder Dynamics has release Wonder Studio, a new AI powered tool that can seamlessly integrates CG characters into live-action footage. The company says it software can save substantial time and expense in the field of visual effects by significantly reducing the need for traditional methods like motion capture, complex 3D software, and costly production equipment. According to claims on the product’s website, “Wonder Studio automates 80%-90% of ‘objective’ VFX work and leaves the artist with the remaining ‘subjective’ work, which can be exported into the software they already use.”
Promotion materials for the new tool emphasises its simplicity: artists merely require a camera to start their work. Once a CG character model is uploaded into the system, it can be used across a scene or in multiple shots. The AI is capable of automatically identifying changes in shots and tracking the actor throughout a sequence, eliminating the need for a shot-by-shot approach.
The technology further reduces the laborious process of frame-by-frame VFX work by auto-detecting the actor’s performance from single-camera footage. This performance is then transferred onto the chosen CG character, which the AI tool animates, lights, and composes automatically.

Wow, didn’t know about it. Promising!
Looks really good. I noticed the custom avatar import export is only for Blender and Maya. Hopefully they will include Max at some point.
