Barcelona-based Big Lazy Robot studio has finally released Keloid, a Sci-fi CG spec film directed by Juan José Palomo. Keloid was created using 3DS Max and V-Ray (with some Maya intervention). According to a recent announcement by Adobe, the company has discovered attacks on its network involving "access of customer information as well as source code for numerous Adobe products". Madrid-based SGO announced that their new compositing software is available for pre-order. Mamba FX is OFX plugin compliant and provides an extensive visual effects suite, comprised of keying, tracking, painting and restoration. The software uses a node-based UI and the compositing ‘trees’ generate plain text files that describe the chain of processes used, which can be scripted and manipulated to automate functions and workflows. It is being offered at an introductory price of $299, with a stereo 3D toolset available at an additional cost. A beta of the software is available and can be downloaded by customers.
