Madrid-based SGO announced that their new compositing software is available for pre-order. Mamba FX is OFX plugin compliant and provides an extensive visual effects suite, comprised of keying, tracking, painting and restoration. The software uses a node-based UI and the compositing ‘trees’ generate plain text files that describe the chain of processes used, which can be scripted and manipulated to automate functions and workflows. It is being offered at an introductory price of $299, with a stereo 3D toolset available at an additional cost. A beta of the software is available and can be downloaded by customers. Check out Mamba FX’s development progress and find out more on SGO’s website.
The standard version price is not bad, but it’s limited to a maximum render resolution of HD (it what they say in their store), but 9900€ because it has stereo capabilities????
What happens to devs and companies? Are they mad?
Interesting, instead of paying you to beta test, you pay them. I suppose Mistika users will be very interested, but I can’t see this competing against Fusion or AE on price, and you’d have to be very risk tolerant to try it otherwise.
