In addition to V-Ray for Nuke, Chaos Group has announced V-Ray for Modo at SIGGRAPH 2015. A video has been made available that showcases the workflow and feature set of the beta version of V-Ray inside of Modo. For more details, and to sign up for the beta, you can visit the Chaos Group website.

Toronto-based artist Matt Borrett has been creating some interesting stylized landscapes and architectural structures using Modo, 3D-Coat and SpeedTree. He has also recorded a number of videos showing parts of the creation process. More on The Foundry's forum and Matt Borrett's website.

Allegorithmic is set to launch Substance Share, at the upcoming SIGGRAPH conference in August. Substance Share is a new online platform where users can share their and exchange Substances, smart materials, meshes and much more. The Foundry has released Service Pack 1 for Modo 901, which brings many bug fixes and a few enhancements. Reports on its performance are varied, some have experienced crashes, others increased stability. Read the list of changes and users' comments on The Foundry's forum.

A tutorial by Chaos Group's Vladimir Koylazov explaining his current favorite way of setting up sampling in V-Ray 3.x. The video was recorded in V-Ray 3.2 for Max, but is valid for any other V-Ray 3.x integration (i.e. Maya, Modo, Katana, etc.). Watch it on YouTube.

Dan Durda, a US artist and fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists, has created a number of animated sequences for "Chasing Pluto" a TV show that aired recently on WGBH Boston (an educational TV channel). Fabric Software has posted a number of videos showing the latest developments in their platform for building high-performance graphics applications that can be run across different 3D software. The videos cover topics such as the SceneHub technology for working with larger than memory datasets, the extensions system, the Kraken cross-platform rigging framework, intelligent portable assets and Fabric Engine for Modo, among others.
