V-Ray for Modo

In addition to V-Ray for Nuke, Chaos Group has announced V-Ray for Modo at SIGGRAPH 2015. A video has been made available that showcases the workflow and feature set of the beta version of V-Ray inside of Modo. For more details, and to sign up for the beta, you can visit the Chaos Group website.

Vladimir Koylazov’s V-Ray sampling tutorial

A tutorial by Chaos Group's Vladimir Koylazov explaining his current favorite way of setting up sampling in V-Ray 3.x. The video was recorded in V-Ray 3.2 for Max, but is valid for any other V-Ray 3.x integration (i.e. Maya, Modo, Katana, etc.). Watch it on YouTube.

New Horizons spacecraft video

Dan Durda, a US artist and fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists, has created a number of animated sequences for "Chasing Pluto" a TV show that aired recently on WGBH Boston (an educational TV channel). For this purpose he modeled the New Horizons spacecraft using Modo and a bit of ZBrush. Watch a video on Vimeo and find out more on The Foundry's forum.

Fabric Engine 2.0 beta

Fabric Software has posted a number of videos showing the latest developments in their platform for building high-performance graphics applications that can be run across different 3D software. The videos cover topics such as the SceneHub technology for working with larger than memory datasets, the extensions system, the Kraken cross-platform rigging framework, intelligent portable assets and Fabric Engine for Modo, among others.
