The Foundry has released an update to its Colorway application which brings an improved iterative design workflow. The software is now being offered through rental-only licensing, which has prompted The Foundry software users to raise their concerns on the company's official forum and ask for clarification about the company's licensing plans for the future. Vizpark is offering a collection of assets for working with architectural visualization in Modo, which includes over 300 3D models of trees, grasses, shrubs, interior plants, boulders and realistic fruits, together with 30 HDRI environments and 75 wall and floor materials. An included browser can be added with drag-and-drop workflow. The 75 brick wall and tiled floor materials can be used for any type of architecture, from modern to old, high to low and small to large. The Foundry has released Service Pack 3 for Modo 901, which brings many bug fixes. Check out the list of changes and known issues that are still pending.

From Modo to the gallery: Canadian artist Mathew Borrett has created new detailed images of stylized landscapes and architectural structures as part of his HyperNurnia series. He created the images primarily using Modo and rendered them at 12600 x 28800 pixels. They are currently on display at Toronto-based The Red Head Gallery, the exhibition lasts until October 31st. A commercial set of tutorials by rigging specialist Sergio Muciño, made up of 63 videos. The collection offers in-depth understanding of how to approach rigging bipedal characters in Modo, including coverage of Forward Kinematics setups and Inverse Kinematics, blending rigs, creating procedural setups, making pseudo-muscle rigs, generating facial setups and rigging props. FlippedNormals has released a set of 12 lighting scenes to help render well presented models quickly. The set comes with 12 lighting setups and more than 30 different materials. It's available for both Modo and Maya / V-Ray 3.x. More on FlippedNormals' website.
